I have worked with acrylic paints for many years in a variety of styles and found them to be incredibly flexible – equally happy with as glazes, impasto, highly detailed rendering and as a medium for mixed media; sometimes all within one picture! Currently I am using acrylics in a very 'traditional' way to produce naturalistic imagery – but as always a key interest for me is the interplay of the symbolic meaning of the individual items that make up each composition: realistic representation expressing abstract ideas.
